CNC Turning, especially for single pieces and small series.
CNC Turning is a machining process in which a non-rotating cutting tool moves linearly while the workpiece rotates, creating a perfect cut in a cylindrical shape. Because the workpiece rotates at a high speed, the cutting tool only needs to move straight on the X and Z axes.
Our CNC machines are fully computer-controlled and have the ability to move the head along the X and Z axes. This makes it possible to make grooves in metal blocks or conical workpieces, for example, Baas Metaal offers it all. A favorable price-quality ratio, that’s what we stand for!
Complex operations
As with CNC milling, CNC turning is an automated process that requires virtually no man-hours. The robotic machines at Baas Metaal are equipped with specially developed tools that rotate around their own X and Z axes but do not rotate, allowing the most complex profiles and grooves to be produced. It does not matter what type of metal is used. CNC turning leads to shortened production processes in almost all cases, because the machines can operate at any time of the day.
Perfection in CNC turning
CNC turning offers a solution for complex issues, such as machining more solid cylindrical products. For example, cones and notches can be applied at the push of a button. The fully automatic machines used are larger than those used for CNC milling, but guarantee the same high quality and precision. Some products that are often machined by Baas Metaal lathes are propeller shafts, steering tubes, piston rods and of course cylinders.
